The Vineyard
Nestled on the side of the Pibonson Hill in Mougins, this miraculously preserved little vineyard is producing some sensational wines.
La Vigne de Mougins
LA VIGNE DE MOUGINS is the only vineyard in the Cannes region, four kilometres above the Bay of Cannes overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The estate, located on the Pibonson Hill below the ancient village of Mougins, benefits from an exceptional exposure: The humid climate, the purifying mistral wind, the sea spray softening the hot, dry weather all combine to generate a particularly favorable climate for the production of great wines combining typicity, fruitiness and density.
The vines thrive on spacious terraces of deep silty-clay soil with a hint of limestone nestling amongst a landscape very much of the Mediterranean spirit with the scents of Provence: lavender, jasmine, lemons, oranges, figs, pines and olive trees.
To improve further the quality of the wines LA VIGNE DE MOUGINS is working towards organic production & limiting vintages to 4,000 bottles, 2,000 Rosé (Grenache grapes) and 2,000 of white (Rolle / Vermentino.)
The quality of its Vin de Pays production from the Alpes-Maritimes and the vines now 25 years old augurs well for the future.
